Home - MOT 2004 - Things to do after the Kancamagus/Bear Notch Drive

What can you do after the drive and lunch? Remember that we reconvene at the base of the Mount Washington Auto Road at 3:45 p.m. You are welcome to arrive early of course, but tardy is fool hardy.

So, what to do in the couple of hours between events?

  • Locate your motel. Drop the gear and take a nap.
  • Locate your motel. Drop the gear and give the MINI a nice warm bath.
  • Locate your motel. Hang out in the lounge chairs and chat with new and old friends.
  • Head into North Conway/Conway to shop the outlets. Remember that for some of you this was a condition of your honey coming along and allowing you to attend MOT.
  • Head north past Mt. Washington on Route 16 into Gorham. Turn right onto Route 2 for about 10 miles. Turn right immediately after the bridge onto Route 113. Hey! You're in Maine! Tell your co-pilot to get a grip and have a fun ride on Routes 113/113B starting in the deep hilly forest and ending in the open flat lands and potato fields. There are some wicked blind rises on this road that'll make your heart skip a couple of beats. You'll end up in E. Conway/Conway and can loop back up to Rt. 16 North and the Auto Road.
  • Take a hike on one of the many trails in the area.
  • Visit Cathedral Ledge just west of N. Conway.
  • Do a quick visit to Story Land.
  • Ride the Alpine Sleds and compete for the Road Rash Award at Attitash.
  • Stop at the White Mountain Cider Company for amazing old fashioned donuts and maple sugar treats. Located a mile or so west of the Bear Notch Road/Rt.302 junction.
