2004 - Final Words
A few things to remember
if you are starting in Maine:
- Goody bags will be distributed
at the Wonder View Inn in Bar Harbor beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday
evening at the meet and greet. There is a slight chance I will get
them to Diane earlier in the week. If this does happen you may get
them from her on Thursday or earlier on Friday.
- The Friday evening meet
and greet begins at 5 p.m. at the Wonder View Inn, 50 Eden Street,
Bar Harbor. 207-288-3358. Bring a micro brew beer, local wine, or
unusual soda as admission. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Maine
MINIs.
- Please print and bring
copies of the Maine to NH directions and maps. If you don't have
them they are available at www.minisontop.com as are the Acadia schedules
of events.
- The official Grand Marshall
Line Leaders of the Maine drives are Diane Briggs ("MEmini")
and Aaron Brasslett ("suvssuk").
Special thanks to Diane and Aaron for all their hard work on developing
the Maine schedule and routes.
A few things to remember
if you are starting in New Hampshire:
- If you are arriving Friday,
Ian Cull will be at the Town and Country in Gorham from 7-9 p.m.
to hand out goody bags. Just ask at the front desk "Where is
Ian, please?" and you'll be directed.
- Check in at the Loon Mountain
parking lot just east of Lincoln, NH any time between 9 a.m. and
11 a.m.
- When you enter the Loon
facility turn right, then left into the large lot. You will see the
MINIs On Top tent. Please drive to the MOT Pavilion (the tent) where
you will check in and receive your goody bag.

- Don't forget to purchase
or bring your picnic lunch. A recommendation for sandwiches and goodies
is Kimberlee's
Deli. Be sure to check out their web
site and see their menu. Call ahead and order (603-745-3354)
so your lunch is ready to go when you arrive. Tell them you are with
the MINI Cooper group and they'll make your sandwich with a little
extra lovin'.
- Please print and bring
copies of the Kanc-Loon route. Yes,
it'll be difficult to get lost in a line of 160 MINIs but bring them
anyway. It includes meeting times and Auto Road information.
- If you have questions please
look for MOT volunteers wearing nappy golden yellow MOT t-shirts.
There is a slight chance they will answer your question correctly.
If not, they will at a minimum dazzle you with their wit and charm.
- Departure from Loon is
approximately 11:15 a.m. The MINIs coming from Maine (47 at last
count) will give it their best shot to join you 113 MINIs at Loon.
- The official Grand Marshall
Line Leader of the Kancamagus route is Richard Freierman ("rfinprc").
Special thanks to Richard for all his hard work on mapping the Kanc
route and securing the Loon lot.
All MINIs should consider
the following:
After the Kanc drive and picnic lunch there is a bit of down time to go sight
seeing, shopping, alpine sledding, check into lodging, naps, quick MINI wash,
etc.
We will reconvene at the base of the Mount Washington Auto Road at 3:45 p.m.
We will be parking on the mountain side of Route 16 across from the Auto Road/Great
Glen pavilion. The huge white canopy on the left and a mess 'o MINI Coopers
will be your land mark. Trust me, you can't miss it.
